Grant MCCargo

Grant brings more than 20 years of experience in sustainable development and conservation to Bio-Logical Capital. He is also the founder of Urban Villages, Inc., a leading-edge real estate development and investment firm. In his role as CEO, Grant establishes the vision for Bio-Logical Capital and takes the leads in investor and partner relations, policy and overall operations. He has successfully completed more than $4 billion of transactions and has developed and invested across all real estate asset types. Grant recently completed a 10-year term on the board of directors with the Colorado chapter of The Nature Conservancy, during which time he was instrumental in completing many complex, large-scale conservation transactions throughout the state.

Roland Van der Meer

Roland provides high-level direction to Bio-Logical Capital and its officers, and translates his passion, dedication and insights into revolutionary ventures for the company. He has nearly three decades of experience as an engineer, strategist and investor in the communications, media, technology and infrastructure sectors. Roland is a managing partner of Fuse Capital, and co-founder of its predecessor, ComVentures. Over the course of his career, he has invested in and helped manage more than 50 companies that have challenged established norms and found opportunity in untapped markets. Recent investments and board seats include Quantia–improving physicians’ knowledge–and Sensys–improving road and highway efficiency. He also writes a blog called Sustainable Path. Roland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the Wharton School. Roland is currently on the board of The Jerome Fischer Program in Management & Technology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dave Chen

Dave is an experienced venture investor who works to increase private equity investment in sustainable commerce. At Bio-Logical Capital, Dave advises on all aspects of the company operations, from investments to employees. He is a board member of the Federal Reserve Bank, Portland branch, and co-founder of Equilibrium Capital Group, a private equity investment firm committed to building leading companies for a sustainable future. Prior to Equilibrium, he was a general partner at OVP, founded GeoTrust and the Ascent Group and held senior management positions at companies including Mentor Graphics and McKinsey. Dave also founded Patton Valley Vineyards, a sustainable pinot noir estate winery in Willamette, Oregon. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California, Berkeley and a master of business administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
